QUARTZ
Portable dry well temperature calibrator
Overview:
Quartz dry block temperature
calibrator is a portable instrument to be used in field or within your
laboratory, suitable for the test and the calibration of temperature
sensors like thermocouples and PT100 resistance thermometers.
As the Quartz
dry block temperature calibrator offers the possibility to set the
rising and falling generated temperature trends, the combined use of
the front panel electrical connections, will make very easy to check
and adjust also the intervention point of temperature switches.
The Quartz dry block temperature calibrator is heated and cooled by a static generation system based on Peltier
cells, making possible the total absence of thermal convections,
typically performed by external fluids. Dry block thermostatic element
is made by a solid aluminium metal block, with the well hole internal
diameter of 35 mm, with a depth of 135 mm. Within the equalization
block can be fitted the reduction insert adapters, suitable to allow
the insertion of several temperature probes with different shapes and
sheat diameters (as standard Quartz dry block temperature
calibrator will be supplied with six holes insert adapter with ID as 4;
4.5; 5.5; 6.5; 8.5; & 10.5 mm: others insert adapters can be
supplied with custom hole sizing, or as solid insert to be drilled).
Temperature generation of Quartz dry block temperature
calibrator (from -25 °C, with 22°C as ambient temperature, up
to +150°C), is managed by a microprocessor controller
capable to achieve a ±0.03 °C stability of the generated value (resolution up to 0.01 °C). The Quartz
dry block calibrator offers a visualization display for the measurement
of generated temperature value with a better than ±0.15 °C
accuracy. By the same display and the front four pushbutton keys is
possible to operate a very easy and friendly structured menu capable to
allow the
operator to entry to all Quartz dry block calibrator functions. As option, Quartz
dry block calibrator can be equipped with a two configurable channels
input board (each channel can be set for three or four wires RTD PT100,
or for thermocouples J, K, N, R, S), suitable to be used for
comparative measurement actions between the unit under test, and the
standard reference probe, both connected each to mentioned input board,
and fitted in the same dry block temperature generation well. The Quartz
dry block calibrator local display will shown the three temperatures,
the one generated by the dry block temperature calibrator, the one from
the
unit under test, and the one from the standard reference probe. This will translate your Quartz
dry block calibrator into a true ISO9000 compliant calibration bench,
that can also be handled and automated for repeated calibration
procedure by specific software like the AQ2sp (contact Spare for any further detail), that will act by the RS232 serial port supplied as standard on the Quartz dry block calibrator. Spare
can offer you a complete range of dry block temperature calibrators,
suitable to generate and measure several temperature ranges (up to
+1100°C as maximum): please contact us for any further detail.

Quartz dry block temperature calibrator accessories:
If the dry block temperature calibrator
shall be used for the test and calibration of particular shaped or with
specific sheat diameters temperature sensors, it would be possible to
supply optional insert adapters, specifically tailored to meet your
needs, improving the final performance of the dry block temperature
calibrator:
- optional solid insert adapter (to be drilled), or with custom holes,
- optional metal transportation suitcase,
- optional AQ2sp full software (see below).
AQ2sp software for dry block temperature calibrators:
As standard Quartz dry block calibrator is supplied with a 60 days shareware version of AQ2sp software
suitable to allow the user to understand and appreciate the features offered by such software tool. By the AQ2sp
software any compatible dry block temperature calibrator can be
transformed into a true automated calibration bench, with a friendly
approach that will not require for any particular operator skills. AQ2sp
is a very intuitive software working with Windows™ environment. Once the software have been installed on any PC, it will allow the user to the following main functions:
- total dry block temperature calibrator control from the PC
- manual or automatic calibratio of one or more temperature sensors
- temperature sensors life cycles or stress tests
- storage, handling and printout of results in total compliance to ISO9000.

Quartz dry block temperature calibrator typical applications:
The Quartz dry block temperature
calibrator make possible the test and the calibration of any
temperature sensor (e.g. thermocouples or PT100 RTD), as also of any
temperature switch (allowing to see the alarm trip intervention point
by a local visual confirmation as a panel light). When combined with
the AQ2sp software, the dry block temperature calibrator will allow for
repeated calibration or testing procedure, as usually required by a
temperature sensor manufacturer or OEM users.
